Replacement Laptop Emergency Fund

If you’re reading this, you probably know me online or in meatspace—but if you don’t, I’m a visual artist, educator performer who works in animation, illustration, audiovisual editing and drag, and whose main day job is audio proofreading.
For the past five years, I’ve been gradually recovering from a crisis that involved becoming homeless, and because I’m disabled and stuck in underpaid work, sudden crises and financial emergencies are something I’m extremely vulnerable to.
At the start of this week, my laptop of five years finally died for good after almost a year of declining function, leaving me without a reliable income or way to replace it. The longer I spend without a suitable replacement, the more overdrawn I become, so I’m setting up this crowdfund to help me cover the expense.
The recently-deceased laptop lasted me a long time, and because of the projects I work on, I want a quality replacement that will serve me for at least as long. If this crowdfund exceeds its goal, or if any amount raised here is left over, I’ll put it toward covering the cost of losing work, continuing to climb out of my overdraft, and similar life expenses.
Everyone who donates here will get a thank-you message from me through GoFundMe. In addition, people who want to discuss arranging special rewards (past requests include makeup tutorials and Skype calls) can attach a note to their donation, or message me elsewhere.
Thanks to everyone who helps out with this—it’s a sudden and quite severe emergency—and I’ll keep this page updated with new developments.
