My name is Cheryl. I am a cheerleader for Baby Jane, a friend to Landon and Sarah, previous NICU mom and a prayer partner of everyone praying for sweet baby Jane. Sometimes life’s blessings come before you’re quite prepared to receive them. This was the case for the Baker’s when they found out on April 19 that Sarah would have to undergo an emergency C-Section at only 34 weeks. Baby Jane was born on April 19, 2020. Due to her early arrival and complications, she has been transferred to Santa Clara Kaisers NICU and is breathing with the help of a ventilator. Sarah has also been transferred to Kaiser to be with Baby Jane. Baby Jane will be needing a lot of special care. Sarah will need a lot of healing and Landon I know is dedicated to be by their side during this very difficult and stressful time. While we are grateful that Baby Jane (and Sarah) are receiving amazing care at Santa Clara Kaiser, the road ahead is long and full of unknowns. As a NICU mom myself, I know exactly the fears they are going through right now. As a community of friends and family, let’s help ease some of the stress so they can just focus on recovery (for Sarah) and be with baby Jane every second they can be with her. NICU’s daily stay costs thousands of dollars. When my son was in the NICU for one week, his bill was over $95,000 and that was 24 years ago. While there are certainly opportunities for moral support, anything we can do to help alleviate the significant financial pressure ahead will be greatly appreciated by Landon and Sarah. The purpose of this fundraiser is to provide financial assistance to this sweet little family. They can use all the help we can give them. 100 % of donations will go to the family.
