In Memory Of Nicole - Please Help Support Joni

On the evening of April 15, our dear friend Nicole Merritt suddenly collapsed in her home. She was previously healthy and this was a complete shock to her wife, Joni. Joni bravely performed CPR until an ambulance arrived. Nicole was transferred to a local hospital and placed on a ventilator. Many tests were performed to try to figure out what had happened, and she was transferred overnight to a larger hospital two hours away. It was eventually discovered that Nicole had experienced a burst brain aneurysm and her body would no longer be able to sustain life. Joni tirelessly waded through her own grief to make the best decisions for her beloved wife. Nicole passed away on April 19 with Joni by her side. Joni’s dedication to her sweetheart of 13 years shone through until her very last moments earthside. Nicole and Joni were partners in every sense of the word - and Nicole would be at peace knowing that their community came through for Joni when she was most in need. Any amount you are able to contribute to support Joni is helpful and appreciated. Joni will have Nicole’s medical bills to cover, as well as living expenses as she continues to support Nicole’s younger siblings that they were raising together. Joni has always said that Nicole was her rock; let’s come together and be that rock that she needs now.
