The Benefits -

Imagine that you've finally secured a dream trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico or Vietnam and suddenly during your sightseeing, your stomach rumbles beckoning your attention.  Sure there are the typical touristy hot spots, but what if during your wanderlust you could actually support a Michelin Star Black chef or a Black-owned restaurant nestled in Bangor, Maine or London?

This show will inform Black travelers (a $63 billion industry) where they can go to eat when traveling domestic or abroad to bring global awareness to black-owned culinary businesses and bring a much needed light to the importance of getting an appreciation for black diaspora and gastronomic achievement.

The Funds -

The crowdfunding seed capital will be utilized to cover any additional expenses incurred during the production of our pilot episode, which will be shot in the Chicagoland and Great Lakes area of Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin.  Most of the integral funding will be provided through the donation of time and services by film professionals who believe in the vision of pioneering the storytelling of Black chefs, foodies, and restauranteurs in the form of media journalism.

The Timeline -

The time is now.  Never before has the world been so receptive to the worldview of Black Americans.  Therefore we are willing to be misunderstood as attention seekers in order to expeditiously present these unique stories to the marketplace.  We feel that while the hearts and minds of so many people are open and receptive, it is pertinent to complete our pilot episode Summer 2020 as major cities ease their COVID-19 restrictions.

The Importance -

Less than 5% of journalism is produced by Black professionals.  In travel industry there are only a handful of hosts and media journalists who are selected to produce content.  Highlighting Black-owned culture, history, business, and dining through a documentary series has never been done before.  This is why it is so important that this series get produced and exposed.  Even the most diverse centric travelers have not devoted an entire production, or could even tell you at great length where black communities are located domestically/abroad then subsequently explain black local eateries.
