In the light of new updates that we received from our dear friend Ahmed and his family, we are urgently appealing to you to act. Please help us to share the GoFundMe so we can gather desperately needed funds ASAP. Both Ahmed's sisters have been forced to evacuate their neighbourhood along with their husband's families. The entire extended family is now living under one roof. This includes a newly-born baby girl, Ahmed's latest niece. She was miraculously born amidst war and chaos just two days ago. Both mother and daughter are healthy, but running short on food and basic hygienic items. Help is desperately needed to keep them alive and well. Milk, diapers, and medication are all scarce and desperately needed.

We learnt that the entire neighbourhood was wiped from the face of the earth in Hai Alamal, Khan Yniis.

It is devastating news since the whole family left everything behind, they could barely carry any personal items as they left so quickly before the tanks and bombs reached their doorstep. Today, they attempted to gather what is left from the rubble that was once their home, now bombed to pieces by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IDF).

As you know, Ahmed's family left their life's worth behind IN Sudan as well and spent their life-savings to get to Gaza.

Now there are five families Living with Ahmed's family and it's overcrowded and lacking basic necessities for a newly born baby and Ahmed's ageing parents. They feel their only chance to save their lives is to evacuate to Egypt.

Hi, dear donor! We are Emily and Karol working together to create this GoFundMe on behalf of our friend Ahmed Sarsour and his family currently stranded in Gaza and whom we knew in Sudan. This is their story:

We are the Sarsour Family (Hamid, Nefouz, Ahmed and Belal) from Palestine and over the past 10 months our family has endured through two wars: Sudan and Gaza. Like many Palestinians in exile, we spent the last years in Khartoum, Sudan where we were able to build a life. Unfortunately, in May 2023 we were forced to flee Sudan as a result of the war between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

We left behind all our belongings and spent our savings to be able to flee Sudan and move back to Gaza, only to be caught up in armed conflict once again. Both conflicts have been recognised as the most challenging humanitarian catastrophes of our time, so we are definitely lucky to be alive (Alhamdulillah!). The trauma and pain of our family has endured these past 10 months has been unimaginable.

Both of our parents, Hamid and Nefouz are elderly and in urgent need of consistent medical treatment and cannot walk long distances. Our father, Hamid, cannot handle physical activities for too long, therefore a long walk for evacuation is impossible for him as we do not own a car. He had an accident in which bones from his legs were cut, which is why he is in constant need of painkillers and care, something not available in Gaza right now. Our mother, Nefouz, suffers from early stages of diabetes and currently faces an UTI that needs urgent medical care and attention to avoid worsening.

As a result of the war in Sudan we also lost our jobs (Ahmed and Belal) as engineers and project managers. And the possibilities for job hunting in Gaza is non-existent, and were extremely difficult even before the conflict broke out in October. It is because of these unfortunate events, our family is seeking to evacuate Gaza as soon as possible, as the situation is turning more dire and difficult by the hour, especially for our parents. We may not survive if we stay as our neighbourhoods have been bombed and continue to be victims of exchanges of fire and attacks.

Finding clean water and food is an everyday struggle and prices for these items have skyrocketed, if available at all. All we have left is canned food which also comes from donations when available, and there is no access to medicine, health services or shelter. We are afraid that our lives and conditions are unsustainable.

هذه هي قصتهم:

نحن عائلة صرصور (حامد ونفوز وأحمد وبلال) من فلسطين وعلى مدى الأشهر العشرة الماضية مرت عائلتنا بحربين: السودان وغزة. وكالعديد من الفلسطينيين في المنفى، أمضينا السنوات الأخيرة في الخرطوم بالسودان حيث تمكنا من بناء حياة جديدة. لسوء الحظ، اضطررنا في مايو 2023 إلى الفرار من السودان نتيجة الحرب بين القوات المسلحة السودانية وقوات الدعم السريع.

تركنا وراءنا جميع ممتلكاتنا وأنفقنا مدخراتنا لنتمكن من الفرار من السودان والعودة إلى غزة، لنجد أنفسنا عالقين في النزاع المسلح مرة أخرى. لقد تم الاعتراف بكلا النزاعين على أنهما من أصعب الكوارث الإنسانية في عصرنا، لذلك نحن بالتأكيد محظوظون لأننا على قيد الحياة (الحمد لله!). لقد كانت الصدمة والألم الذي عانت منه عائلتنا خلال الأشهر العشرة الماضية لا يمكن تصوره.

فكلا والدينا، حامد ونفوز من كبار السن في حاجة ماسة إلى العلاج الطبي ولا يستطيعان المشي لمسافات طويلة. والدنا، حامد ، لا يستطيع تحمل الأنشطة البدنية لفترة طويلة، وبالتالي فإن المشي لمسافات طويلة للإخلاء يمثل تحديًا كبيرًا بالنسبة له لأننا لا نملك سيارة. كما أنه تعرض لحادث وتعرضت عظام ساقيه للقطع، ولذلك فهو في حاجة دائمة للمسكنات والرعاية، وهو أمر غير متوفر هنا في الوقت الحالي. من ناحية أخرى، تعاني والدتنا "نفوز" من مراحل مبكرة من مرض السكري، وتواجه حالياً التهاب المسالك البولية الذي يحتاج إلى رعاية واهتمام متخصصين.

ونتيجة للحرب في السودان فقدنا أيضاً وظيفتينا (أحمد وبلال) كمهندسين ومديري مشاريع نتيجة للحرب في السودان. وإمكانيات البحث عن عمل في غزة معدومة، وكانت صعبة للغاية حتى قبل اندلاع الصراع في أكتوبر/تشرين الأول.

وبسبب هذه الأحداث المؤسفة، تسعى عائلتنا إلى مغادرة غزة في أقرب وقت ممكن، حيث أن الوضع يزداد سوءًا وصعوبة كل ساعة، خاصة بالنسبة لوالدينا. قد لا نتمكن من البقاء على قيد الحياة إذا بقينا حيث تعرضت أحياؤنا للقصف ولا تزال ضحية لتبادل إطلاق النار والهجمات.

إن العثور على المياه النظيفة والطعام هو معاناة يومية وأسعار هذه المواد قد ارتفعت بشكل كبير، هذا إن توفرت أصلاً. كل ما يتبقى لدينا هو الطعام المعلب الذي يأتينا من التبرعات أيضًا عند توفره، ولا يوجد إمكانية للحصول على الدواء أو الخدمات الصحية أو المأوى. نخشى أن تكون حياتنا وظروفنا غير قابلة للاستمرار.

¡Hola, queridx donante! Somos Emily y Karol solicitando este apoyo de donación a través de GoFundMe para nuestro amigo Ahmed Sarsour y su familia quienes están actualmente en Gaza y a quienes conocimos en Sudán.

Esta es su historia:

Somos la familia Sarsour (Hamid, Nefouz, Ahmed y Belal) de Palestina y durante los últimos 10 meses nuestra familia ha pasado por dos guerras: en Sudán y en Gaza. Como muchos palestinos en el exilio, pasamos los últimos años en Jartum, Sudán, donde pudimos construir una vida. Lamentablemente, en mayo de 2023 nos vimos obligados a huir de Sudán como resultado de la guerra entre las Fuerzas Armadas Sudanesas y las Fuerzas de Apoyo Rápido.

Dejamos atrás todas nuestras pertenencias y gastamos nuestros ahorros para poder huir de Sudán y regresar a Gaza, sólo para quedar atrapados en el conflicto armado una vez más. Ambos conflictos han sido reconocidos como las catástrofes humanitarias más desafiantes de nuestro tiempo, por lo que definitivamente tenemos suerte de estar vivos (¡Gracias a Dios!). El trauma y el dolor que nuestra familia ha soportado estos últimos 10 meses ha sido inimaginable.

Nuestros padres, Hamid y Nefouz, son personas mayores que necesitan tratamiento médico urgente y no pueden caminar largas distancias. Nuestro padre, Hamid, no puede realizar actividades físicas durante mucho tiempo, por lo que una larga caminata para evacuar representaría todo un desafío para él, ya que no tenemos automóvil. Tuvo un accidente y le cortaron los huesos de las piernas, por lo que necesita constantemente analgésicos y cuidados, algo que aquí no está disponible en este momento. Por otro lado, nuestra madre, Nefouz, sufre de diabetes en etapas tempranas y actualmente enfrenta una ITU que necesita atención y cuidado profesional.

A consecuencia de la guerra en Sudán también perdimos nuestros puestos de trabajo (Ahmed y Belal) como ingenieros y directores de proyecto. Y las posibilidades de buscar empleo en Gaza son inexistentes y eran extremadamente difíciles incluso antes de que estallara el conflicto en octubre.

Debido a estos desafortunados acontecimientos, nuestra familia está tratando de evacuar Gaza lo antes posible, ya que la situación se vuelve más grave y difícil cada hora, especialmente para nuestros padres. Es posible que no sobrevivamos si nos quedamos, ya que nuestros vecindarios han sido bombardeados y siguen siendo víctimas de intercambios de disparos y ataques.

Encontrar agua potable y alimentos es una lucha diaria y los precios de estos artículos se han disparado, si es que están disponibles. Lo único que nos queda son alimentos enlatados que también provienen de donaciones cuando están disponibles, y no hay acceso a medicamentos, servicios de salud ni refugio. Tememos que nuestras vidas y nuestras condiciones sean insostenibles.

Bonjour, chers donateurs ! Nous sommes Emily et Karol et nous organisons ce GoFundMe au nom de notre ami Ahmed Sarsour et de sa famille qui se trouvent actuellement à Gaza et que nous avons rencontrés au Soudan.

Voici leur histoire :

Nous sommes la famille Sarsour (Hamid, Nefouz, Ahmed et Belal). Nous sommes palestiniens et, au cours des dix derniers mois, notre famille a connu deux guerres : au Soudan et à Gaza. Comme beaucoup de Palestiniens en exil, nous avons passé les dernières années à Karthoum, au Soudan, où nous avons pu construire notre vie. Malheureusement, en mai 2023, nous avons été contraints de fuir le Soudan en raison de la guerre entre les Forces armées soudanaises (FAS) et les Forces de soutien rapide FSR).

Nous avons dû tout abandonner derrière nous. Nous avons depensé nos économies pour pouvoir fuir le Soudan et retourner à Gaza, avant d'être à nouveau pris au piège par un conflit armé. Ces deux guerres ont été reconnues comme les pires catastrophes humanitaires à l'heure actuelle. Nous nous estimons très chanceux d'être en vie (Alhamdulillah !). Il n'existe pas de mots pour décrire le traumatisme et la douleur que notre famille a endurés ces dix derniers mois.

Nos deux parents, Hamid et Nefouz, sont âgés et ont besoin d'un traitement médical urgent. Ils sont incapables de marcher sur de longues distances. Notre père, Hamid, ne peut pas supporter d'exercice physique prolongé. Marcher longtemps pour être évacué représente par conséquent un énorme défi pour lui, d'autant que nous ne possédons pas de voiture. Il a été victime d'un accident qui lui a brisé les os des jambes. Il a depuis besoin d'analgésiques et de soins, auxquels il n'a plus accès ici. Notre mère, Nefouz, souffre des premiers stades du diabète et d'une infection urinaire qui nécessite des soins professionnels.

À cause de la guerre au Soudan, nous avons perdu nos emplois (Ahmed et Belal) en tant qu'ingénieur et chef de projet. Or les possibilités de recherche d'emploi à Gaza sont inexistantes. Il était déjà extrêmement difficile de décrocher un contrat avant que le conflit n'éclate en octobre.

Compte-tenu de cette succession d'événements tragiques, notre famille cherche à partir de Gaza dès que possible. La situation devient de plus en plus désastreuse et difficile d'heure en heure, en particulier pour nos parents. Nous risquons de ne pas survivre si nous restons. Notre quartier a en effet été bombardé, tandis que les échanges de tirs se poursuivent.

Trouver de l'eau potable et de la nourriture est un combat de tous les jours et les prix de ces produits sont montés en flèche, quand ils sont disponibles. Tout ce qu'il nous reste, c'est de la nourriture en conserve qui provient également de l'aide humanitaire, lorsque nous en bénéficions. Il n'y a plus de médicaments, ni d'accès aux soins ou aux abris. Nous craignons pour notre vie. Nous faisons donc appel à votre générosité pour soutenir notre famille par le biais de ce GoFundMe.

2 Oorlogen in 6 maanden: Help Ons Gezin Gaza Evacueren!

Dag lieve donor! Wij zijn Emily en Karol en organiseren deze GoFundMe voor onze vriend Ahmed Sarsour en zijn gezin die nu in Gaza zijn, die we kennen uit Sudan.

Dit is hun verhaal:

Wij zijn de Sarsour familie (Hamid, Nefouz, Ahmed en Belal) uit Palestina en de afgelopen 10 maanden heeft onze familie twee oorlogen ondergaan: Sudan en Gaza. Net als veel Palestijnen in ballingschap, hebben we de laatste jaren in Khartoum, Sudan doorgebracht, waar we een leven konden opbouwen. Helaas werden we in mei 2023 gedwongen uit Sudan te vluchten als gevolg van de oorlog tussen de Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) en de Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

We hebben al onze bezittingen moeten achterlaten en hebben ons spaargeld gebruikt om uit Sudan te vluchten en terug te verhuizen naar Gaza, om vervolgens opnieuw in een gewapende strijd terecht te komen. Beide conflicten worden erkend als de meest uitdagende humanitaire rampen van onze tijd, dus we mogen van geluk spreken dat we nog leven (Alhamdulillah!). De trauma en pijn die ons gezin heeft moeten doorstaan de afgelopen 10 maanden is onvoorstelbaar.

Onze beide ouders, Hamid en Nefouz, zijn senioren in dringende nood voor medische behandelingen en kunnen geen lange afstanden meer lopen. Onze vader, Hamid, kan fysieke activiteiten niet lang aan, waardoor een lange wandeling voor de evacuatie een grote uitdaging is, aangezien we geen auto hebben. Hij heeft een ongeluk gehad waarbij de botten in zijn benen zijn beschadigd, waardoor hij constant pijnstillers en zorg nodig heeft, wat nu niet beschikbaar is. Daarnaast leidt onze moeder, Nefouz, aan vroege fases van diabetes en heeft op dit moment last van een urineweginfectie die professionele zorg vereist.

Als gevolg van de oorlog in Sudan zijn wij (Ahmed en Belal) onze baan als ingenieurs en projectmanagers kwijtgeraakt. De mogelijkheden voor een nieuwe baan in Gaza waren voor het uitbreken van het conflict in oktober al extreem moeilijk maar zijn op het moment niet-bestaand.

Vanwege al deze ingewikkelde gebeurtenissen, wil ons gezien Gaza zo snel mogelijk evacueren. De situatie wordt verschrikkelijker met het uur, zeker voor onze ouders. De kans dat we het overleven is klein, aangezien onze wijken constant worden gebombardeerd en slachtoffer zijn van vuurgevechten en aanvallen.

Het vinden van schoon drinkwater en voedsel is een dagelijkse strijd en de prijzen voor deze producten zijn ontzettend hoog, als het überhaupt al beschikbaar is. Het enige dat we nu nog hebben is voedsel uit blik, wat komt van donaties wanneer die beschikbaar zijn, en er is geen toegang tot medicijnen, gezondheidszorg of onderdak. We zijn ontzettend bang dat onze levens en omstandigheden onhoudbaar zijn.

Gezien dit alles, doen we een beroep op uw vrijgevigheid en vriendelijkheid om ons gezin te steunen via deze GoFundMe.
