Dying 2 Year Old Asylum Seeker Needs Critical Care
Tax deductible
Refugee Health Alliance (RHA) is currently trying to help a very sick 2-year-old asylum seeker in Tijuana who has leukemia and needs higher level ICU care. One of our RHA providers saw this patient two weeks ago at one of the shelters that we visit and immediately wrote a letter for humanitarian parole to get approval for the patient to cross the border. With the help of Al Otro Lado, the patient is now able to cross, but we are not done yet. We need to pay for a critical care ambulance to transport the patient to the border. We will also need to help cover transportation costs from the border to the hospital and the patient’s medical expenses. If you can, please help us by donating. All donations will go towards this patient. Anything helps. Thank you!
For more information about our organization:
Refugee Health Alliance (RHA) is a non-profit that provides vital services to migrants and refugees and other vulnerable patients in Tijuana at the US-Mexico Border. Medical services have been and continue to be provided to the community during the pandemic at our 2 clinics - Justicia en Salud (pre-natal and midwifery care) and Resistencia en Salud (general medical and pediatric clinic) and in support of individuals at over 30 shelters in Tijuana. In addition, we have expanded our services to include food security, hygiene, medical capacity building, potable water provision, and COVID-19 isolation and quarantine, to name just a few of our new special programs. In addition to the services mentioned above, we also continue to provide LGBTQIA+ care including gender affirmation, medical-legal services, well-baby care, natural medicine and acupuncture, mental health services and counseling, and more. We rely so much on individual support and hope you can consider donating so we can continue this important work.
