URBAN CAT RESCUE ~ 20 Cats & Kittens ~ 18th St./Newport Blvd JunkYard

3 litters of black & white Kittens were rescued from an urban junkyard early Sunday morning. A group of neighbors and business owners had been feeding the fertile feral moms only to realize the numbers were increasing. Inquiries to local city and private rescue organizations proved pointless as they were all over capacity. FUREVER HEAVEN stepped-in to organize the capture of the nursing Mothers and all their 3 week old babies (estimated at 16).

Our local city municipal shelters abandoned providing stray cat welfare services during the pandemic. This has placed additional stress on independent rescue groups like our own. Veterinary care costs have escalated dramatically.

Our Animal Control services kill ferals. This has placed additional stress on independent rescue groups like our own. FUREVER HEAVEN’S Mission is to Trap, Neuter/Spay & Release (TNR) or Home (if possible), and NOT euthanize! Once spayed, the feral moms will be returned to the grounds to be fed regularly & roam again freely, while we find awesome forever-homes for the kittens.

An attempt to trap the remaining stray males will be ongoing to stop the insanity. This breeding ground will not be ignored any longer.

We are asking to raise the estimated $215 each to cover the veterinary spay/neuter + multiple rounds of core vaccines + ID chips + solid Cat and Kitten food expense for all 20 lives for next 8 weeks = $4,300.

CORE RESCUE COSTS:

* $90 Spay/Neuter

* $30 FVRCP / 3 vaccine combo (2 rounds) + Rabies (for adults)

* $20 Flea treatment & Dewormer

* $10 RFID Chip

* $65 Solid Food (for kittens up to 8 weeks)
