How will the funds be used?

All proceeds will be donated to Sport Senza Frontiere ONLUS. The core of Sport Senza Frontiere is a socio-educational inclusion program realized through the sport practice, addressed to minors in socio-economical needs.

Who are you and what are you raising funds for?

I'm Alessandro, I'm a young guy from Italy. I'm currenlty doing my master's in wildlife documentary production in Manchester, UK

Over time I've always had ambitious projects that I wanted to pursue, however I would convince myself it wasn't the right time or that I wasn't ready or that I did not have enough time or resources. With this project, I'm finally making that step forward. It's not only about doing something that's bigger than myself, but also reconnecting with my own country. At the same time I am raising money for the charity Sport Senza Frontiere. Sport and fitness are a major part of my life and they have helped me overcome some tough times. I would like everyone to be able to experience that. I spent several years studying abroad and wanting to "escape" from Italy. I realized I have not appreciated what my home country has to offer... which is A LOT.

Italy... It's a place I've known my whole life, yet it's taken me years to truly see it. I've spent so much of my time abroad, studying, searching for answers in distant places. I thought I'd find what I was looking for far from home. I've seen the world, experienced its beauty and diversity. But I've also realized that I've been searching for something, something that's been right here all along.

Italy... it's a land of contradictions. We have a rich history, breathtaking landscapes, and a culture that's the envy of the world. But we also face problems, challenges that need solutions. And I, like many of my generation, realized that I've grown distant from it all.

I've missed out on so much. I've missed the laughter of friends, the warmth of family, and the simple joys of life here in Italy. So, I decided to embark on this challenge. Twenty marathons in twenty regions in twenty days. Not just to test my limits, but to reconnect with my homeland, to understand its strengths and weaknesses, and to be a part of building it back up.

This journey is not just about the marathons; it's about the people, the culture, the stories, and the connections. It's about finding the answers I've been seeking right here, in the heart of Italy. 

I've been abroad to learn, but now I'm home to grow.
