20 years of missing Mum

20 years. How time plays tricks on you. It seems an eternity yet like yesterday in the same breath. On the 27th October, Jess, Haz, Al and I will have been without our wonderful mum for 20 years. More time than any of us were blessed to have with her.

To honour her life, Jess and I will be running Bournemouth Half Marathon on the 8th October, surrounded by husbands and friends who, although they never met Mum, will be right with us the whole way round.

Macmillan played a huge part in end of life care and although to me it seems unimaginable, they gave Mum such bravery, dignity and peace when facing her ultimate fate.

I hate to run, but I am lucky I can. I feel blessed every day for being able to carry on Mum’s legacy along with my awesome siblings. We know times are hard but we appreciate any bit of support you can offer, even if it is screaming at us (mainly me) to make it to the end!
