2000 Class Railmotors Relocation - Restoration

Donation protected
The Australian Railway Historical Society - QLD Division operates the Rosewood Railway on a section of the former Queensland Railways Marburg Branch. The Railway owns a range of QR Rollingstock including "Silver Bullet" Railmotors 2033 and 2038. These units were previously operated on the bottom section of the rail corridor between Museum Junction (Rosewood) and Perry's Knob up until 2006.
As a result of structural issue with an original Trestle Bridge no further trains were operated on this section of the line with services continuing between Cabanda and Kunkala. The Railmotors were parked at Perry's Knob and while New Hope was still operating the Oakleigh Mine the units were well secured.

Unfortunately since the closure of the mine and New Hope's exit from the district the units have suffered significant component theft and vandalism.

In order to prevent any further damage to the units the Society would like to relocate the units from their existing location at Perry's Knob to the Rosewood Railway's main yard at Kunkala. The project will require Cranes and specialised transport. Once the units are located at Kunkala, the funding will also be used to commence an assessment of the units current condition so a scope of works can be prepared for their return to service operating between Kunkala and Cabanda.

We would very much appreciate your support in this project.
