(All pics were taken by my family members and relatives in Northern Nigeria)
I feel that it is my duty as a first generation American to use the resources I have been given in order to help in the city where many of my family members stay. Although I’m 21 years old, that is no excuse for me. The poverty rate in Kaduna, Nigeria is skyrocketing, and many of the victims are children. You’d be surprised if you knew how many of these children don’t know their parents. There are many charity funds in Nigeria, but due to corruption, those children rarely see any of those donations. Our goal is to continuously provide these children with meals, and also build a small shelter that can provide food for these poor kids as well. We also want to start by building water wells all around the villages in Kaduna so that our people can have access to clean water. Anything helps, so don’t feel obligated to give the most. Let’s come together to change lives since most of us were granted with the opportunity. Make a change for those who need it. Seeing homeless children sleeping in the heat with no food or water shouldn’t be normal. This is just the start to a big change, believe that.
Whether you donate a dollar, or one hundred dollars, anything means something. Our progress will continue to be shown on the website as we raise funds to feed these children. We will make due of every last cent for these children.
