2019 Homowo & Twins Festival

Donation protected
We need your help in supporting this FREE community festival! The 2019 Homowo & Twins Festival, to be held on Saturday, August 17th at Da Vinci Arts School (2508 NE Everett St., Portland, OR 97232), shares these important celebrations of the Ga people of Ghana, West Africa, and brings the community together.

While we are receiving generous support from the Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC), Anansi Beat, and many volunteers, the costs to put on this free festival are numerous and include logistics (venue, sound, stage, etc.), food, advertisements, artist honorariums, and more. Your gifts helps make this event possible! The campaign will end on Saturday, August 24th.

Your gift today supports artists and helps cultivate the kind of city we want to live in. Gifts of ANY size make a difference and all are greatly appreciated.

2019 Featured Performers:

- Just Humanitarian Projct (JHP) Legacy Band (Seattle, WA), founded and led by first generation African immigrants. The group is comprised of accomplished musicians, performers, and artists who want to share their passion for music, dance, and all cultural arts with underserved communities.
- Habiba Addo (Portland, OR), storyteller, dancer, and theatrical performer. Her artistry shares cultures from Ghana, Guinea, Gambia, Senegal, and African cultures present today in Cuba and Brazil.
- Ekome (Portland, OR), traditional Ghanian music and dance performance ensemble, founded and led by Nii Ardey Allotey since 1992.

Again, YOU help to make this festival possible, and help make these kinds of opportunities available for everyone in Portland. Thank you for your support; we couldn't do it without you!

The Facebook page event will be up soon! Please keep checking this page for event updates.
