2019 Leadership Scholarship Fundraiser
Tax deductible
Thank you to all who attended the fundraiser at Surly Brewing on December 30th and those who have donated thus far! If you were unable to attend the fundraiser or did attend and would still like to make a donation, we would very much appreciate your support with a donation!
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Leadership Scholarship has provided over $32,000 ($9,000 in 2019!) over the past seven years to local high school students who see the potential in their communities and take action to turn this vision into reality. The scholarship provides direct funding for students from low-income families in the Twin Cities so they can reduce the financial burdens of attending college.
The fundraiser is not only critically important to raise funds to achieve The Leadership Scholarship’s mission to support low-income students of high character, but it is also a great time for us to connect with donors, and for donors to see what we have been doing in the last year.
On December 30th, we will introduce to you via slide presentation the past year's scholarship recipients, and we will review our plan to expand our program to reach more students from broader geographical areas around the metro area. We also are very excited to announce that Ikram Koliso will give a talk about how the scholarship impacted her, and how she is now paying it forward in her role as a member of our board of directors. You may remember Ikram from our 2017 fundraiser at Surly, when Ikram talked about her experience as our very first Leadership Scholarship recipient in 2013.
