Sleep Out #AtHome For The Homeless

On Wednesday the 27th of May '20,  I will Sleep Out #AtHome  in support of Midlands Simon Community. I hope to raise the vital funds and awareness that Midlands Simon depend on to survive during these difficult times and most importantly to continue providing the essential support and services to those experiencing homelessness in the Midlands region.  I invite you to join me in our efforts to prevent homelessness in our community. Whether you chose to sleep out in your garden, like myself, or set up camp on the kitchen floor, every effort counts and every donation will make a huge difference in the lives of each and every person supported by Midlands Simon Community.  Midlands Simon support individuals, couples and families who are experiencing or who are at risk of homelessness throughout the Midlands Counties of Laois, Longford, Offaly and Westmeath. Although it may not be evident on the streets of our local towns, too many people still have no place to call home and are sleeping in wheelie bins, cars and abandoned buildings. Approximately 300 people every year will experience homelessness across the region. Thanks to the support of Midlands Simon , over 1200 people have already been assisted in rebuilding their lives, moving out of homelessness and into a permanent home. This is a very challenging time for all of us, but especially for those who are most vulnerable in our community, and so we must do what we can to maintain that support system for them, whilst adhering to the Covid-19 restrictions and guidelines. I want to make a positive change that will make a difference, during this time when I feel unable to be more active out and about in our community. Together we can make that positive change.
