2020 Culinary Pilgrimage to West Africa

Hi fans of The Cooking Gene! This is our last effort at raising funds for our chefs to go to West Africa through crowdfunding. We will continue to make trips annually but we are seeking sponsorships and more sustainable means of obtaining funding to secure money for a larger number of new chefs, urban farmers and food and community activists to go to the Motherland. As you can clearly see our upcoming trip to Senegal and Gambia with Roots to Glory Tours Inc. is a powerfully emotional introduction to the continent and its civilizations and cuisines. We don't want you to miss out on being a part of this experience. We are sending four chefs to Senegambia to learn about rice farming, fishing, herding, foraging and marketing in the traditional villages in the interior and thriving cities along the coast. This our third trip. The results are exciting. Our film you see the teaser for is in production, our chefs are promoting healthy and accessible ideas about food to their home communities and we are hosting our cousins here to further teach and reach while learning about the experience of African Americans, Afro Caribbean, and Afro Latin communities from enslavement to freedom to contemporary struggles and food issues that bind us today.
