Kaitlin Gregory wants to get back on her "feet"

On December 15, 2023, Kaitlin Gregory, a healthy 38-year-old wife and mother of two, walked into the ER with the help of her husband. Twenty-five minutes later, her heart had stopped. It took five minutes for the ER doctors to restart it.
She was put on a ventilator and quickly transferred to a nearby hospital with a heart-lung machine. Her chances of survival were 10%. We gathered at her bedside, held her hand, and prayed for a miracle.
Days later, her heart began to beat on its own. Then her lung function improved. Her kidneys started working again, and her liver was back.
The day after Christmas, her children watched a helicopter take her to yet another hospital where she would undergo lifesaving amputations to both of her legs, just below the knees.
A week later, more amputations were performed to fingers on both hands, and skin grafts were made to large sections of her legs.
Kaitlin had developed toxic sepsis from a bacterial infection. Her body’s response to the infection, and the drugs the doctors gave her to maintain her blood pressure and keep her vital organs alive resulted in decreased blood flow to her feet and hands. The result was tragic.

But make no mistake, Kaitlin is not a “tragedy”. She is a miracle and a survivor. She is a bright, beautiful, vivacious woman, an artist, a wife, and a mother who has suffered a tragedy of life-changing proportions.
We got the miracle we prayed for: Kaitlin is alive. But miracles don’t pay for medical bills, which are astronomical. They also don’t pay for renovations to her home, hand controls for her car, advanced and on-going therapy, equipment, and specialized prosthetics needed for her to return to her life, which she is determined to do.
So many of you have asked how you can help. This is how. None of us can replace what Kaitlin lost, but we can help pay for the things that will enable her to return to her home, her children, her husband, her rambunctious puppy (busily chewing every chair leg in the house), and her life.

Thank you for your love, prayers, attention, care, and generosity.

Here are some photos of our girl before having her battle with infection...
