2022 Homeless Youth Backpack Drive

Hello Everyone! This is the annual Backpack drive for the Volunteers of America Homeless Youth Shelter and were back again this Fall!

I am hosting a Fundraiser for the homeless youth in Sioux Falls. We are having a Backpack drive to get school supplies and other necessities such as toothbrushes toothpaste etc. The Augustana Football Team and Augustana Wrestling team will be assembling the backpacks and delivering the to Volunteers of America (Dakota) to then be distributed to the Homeless youth in need. Did you know that 40% of the homeless in the United States are under 18?? (Statistics ) Another Stat... "Over 50% of young people in shelters and on the streets report that their parents told them to leave or knew they were leaving and didn't care" (More info)

Let's be the change agents and let us make Sioux Falls a Community that cares for our youth! The official event date will be held at either the end of December or beginning of January!

Last year we did 165 backpacks full of supplies!

Goal is 200 this year!
