2022 Mountain View Spartans Cross Country

Welcome to the 2022 Mountain View Cross Country Season!

The 2022 Cross Country team at Mountain View High School is a unique and relatively young group of student-athletes. This season, the team has ambitious goals to compete well in our strong league and send at least one team (girls or boys) to the California State Championships in November. In the next few years, I strongly believe our program will be one of the top teams in the Central Coast Section and the State of California.

To get to that point, we need to develop distance athletes who are confident, resilient, and committed to the process of creating a championship culture. We also need to build durable bodies that can withstand the training demands of competing at that level.

One key to building such a program is having the funds necessary for us to thrive. We plan to set up an annual summer camp to train at altitude, travel to some of the best competitions in the state, and purchase exercise equipment to help us avoid injury and become better athletes.

On October 29th, the entire team will participate in a Run-A-Thon event, where they will run continuously for 60 minutes around the track to see how many laps they can do. You can help our athletes by sponsoring them with a donation for each lap they run, or just a flat donation of any amount.

Money received in this year's Run-A-Thon will go to provide the following items:

-Spirit pack- $2000

-Elliptical Bike- $3500

-Summer Camp- $4500

-Competition Traveling expenses- $5000

-Uniforms- $5,000

Total $20,000
