2022 SEHS NJROTC Nationals

On Saturday, March 5th, 2022, the South Effingham High School Navy JROTC competed for the Area 12 Drill Championship in Douglas, GA. The results....2nd Overall but more importantly, the "nod" to compete at the 2022 NJROTC Nationals Academic, Athletic & Drill Championship, held Friday & Saturday, April 1-2, 2022 at NAS Pensacola!

SEHS NJROTC has 129 cadets split into Academic, Drill, Orienteering and Rifle Teams. The Rifle Team went to the Navy National Rifle Match in Anniston, AL, placing 4th in a field of 600! This accomplishment has allowed them to continue as contenders at the All-Service Championship in Port Clinton, OH, on March 18-20, 2022.

The Academic Team has their state-level competition on March 18th and, if they perform as expected, will travel to San Diego, CA, for the Navy Championship at the end of April. With a 40-cadet headcount on the Drill Team, at the cost of roughly $300 per cadet, the total amount for the Drill Team alone is $12,000. The Rifle Team is expecting a $2,000 expense, and if the Academic Team qualifies, $5,000 will be needed to fund their costs.

The cadets and parents rallied to fundraise with a 5k event earlier in the school year to support their meets throughout the school year. The remaining funds will be applied to help offset the $19,000 for all Teams to attend their respective competitions but to make it affordable for all cadets, we respectfully request your help.

These recent events have been the most outstanding achievement in the lives of some cadets. Unfortunately, several are struggling to raise funds to support these opportunities. Please help our kids compete at a level only a few can experience. The impact of COVID has robbed our cadets of past occasions to compete at a national level; let's not let the financial downfall from COVID hinder them any longer.
