2022 Senior Cat Rescue Marathon
Donation protected
On Sunday November 20 (my 60th birthday), I ran the Ninth Annual New York Cat Hospital SENIOR CAT RESCUE MARATHON! And as sole participant...I won!
SENIOR and SPECIAL-NEEDS CATS remain an underserved and oft-neglected part of the rescue world. Many are ABANDONED or SURRENDERED at area shelters just because they are old, ill, or simply no longer wanted. So, tragically countless cats are torn from the only homes they've known and are placed in cages to await probable euthanasia.
But with your help we can give these cats a SECOND CHANCE. The dedicated rescue advocates below pull cats from area kill lists, provide vital medical care, and place them in warm and welcoming foster and forever homes. Among them they've saved thousands of loving, wonderful cats from a sad and unnecessary end.
Pictured above is Bruce, one such rescue who happily found his way to a loving forever home (New York Cat Hospital). Bruce has limited control over his litter habits and hence wears a diaper...but we couldn't love him more.
Following eight previous solo marathons, this year I returned to the streets of Manhattan, tracing a route that (crudely) depicted...a cat!
All funds raised will be collected by me and distributed to Frankie's Feline Fund (www.frankiesfelinefund.org), CatFixerNY (https://www.facebook.com/catfixerny/), and Paws Crossed Animal Rescue (www.pawscrossedny.org) — all registered not-for-profit rescue organizations. Monies will be specifically earmarked to help senior and special-needs cats.
Please DIG DEEP to support these sweet cats, and SHARE SHARE SHARE on social media. We need your help. THANK YOU!
