2023 Senior Cat Rescue Marathon

Donation protected
On Monday November 20 (my 61st birthday), I ran the Tenth Annual New York Cat Hospital SENIOR CAT RESCUE MARATHON! And as sole participant...I won! Again!!

SENIOR and SPECIAL-NEEDS CATS remain an underserved and oft-neglected part of the rescue world. Many are ABANDONED or SURRENDERED at area shelters just because they are old, ill, or simply no longer wanted. As a result, countless cats are tragically torn from the only homes they've known and are placed in cages to await probable euthanasia.

But with your help we can give these cats a SECOND CHANCE. The dedicated rescue advocates below pull cats from area kill lists, provide vital medical care, and place them in warm and welcoming foster and forever homes. Among them they've saved thousands of sweet, deserving cats from a sad and unnecessary end.

Pictured above is Li'l Gill, one such rescue discovered profoundly weak, emaciated, and covered in horrible sores. Li'l Gill was literally hours away from euthanasia at a local shelter. But he was rescued, and with attentive care and proper treatment, he's fully recovered and now in a loving forever home.

Last year I ran a "special" route through the streets of Manhattan, tracing the crude outline of a cat. This year I plotted a similar route...with decidedly mixed results (see updates).

Over the past 9 years, we've raised over $250,000.00. That's a lot of help for a lot of cats. Let's keep this streak going, and continue to help these deserving cats.

All funds raised will be collected by me and distributed to Frankie's Feline Fund (www.frankiesfelinefund.org), CatFixerNY (https://catfixerny.org), and Paws Crossed Animal Rescue (www.pawscrossedny.org) — all registered not-for-profit rescue organizations. Monies will be specifically earmarked to help senior and special-needs cats.

Please DIG DEEP to support these sweet cats, and SHARE SHARE SHARE on social media. We need your help. THANK YOU!
