2023 Krishna House renovations

Krishna house and Krishna Lunch has grown over the years and gone through several changes. As many of you might remember we fundraised last year for a kitchen expansion and are working towards increasing our cooking capacity. Having to work with older houses means challenges and creative solutions to adapt everything so as to feed a 1000 people everyday.

Krishna Lunch distributes around 800 plates daily at the University of Florida and our Krishna cares program that distributes around 100 meals a day to those in need! Through the many turbulences in recent years like supply chain disruption, food costs and other overhead increasing exponentially we have had to adopt. One of our strageies is to come up with infrastructure to cook more and hold more food materials in even more bulk! To this extent we are planning on two projects this winter:

a) Bigger storage for spices and paper goods. The more paper goods we can get the more we can keep Krishna Lunch going strong

b) Separate bigger storage for Krishna Lunch Bhoga or cooking ingredients. Again, the more in bulk we get, the more we are able to keep everything afloat and thriving.

Other than these two projects we plan to redo another section of the Krishna Lunch kitchen floor. The three projects of two storages and floor are around $10,000 each totalling $30,000. The good news is that we have donors who are willing to match 50%. So we have to raise only $15,000!
