2023 Queensland Ivor Burge Men and Women!

For anyone who hasn't fallen victim to my passionate spiel before, the Ivor Burge Championships is the National Basketball Championships for athletes with intellectual disabilities (a participant’s eligibility is based on an Intelligence Quotient of 75 or below).

The Ivor Burge competition sees men and women from across Australia competing for, and proudly representing, their State or Territory, all vying for the coveted title of National Champions.

Aside from being an elite pathway for athletes with intellectual disabilities, the Ivor Burge National Championships is a week-long celebration of diversity, inclusivity, and participation. Many of the athletes, coaches, staff, and supporters attend every year, and develop lifelong friendships and an unparalleled sense of belonging to a community strengthened by a shared love of basketball.

Our goal is to offer this incredible opportunity to Queensland’s best twenty athletes and for the first time since 2013, completely unencumbered by financial strain!
