2023 Revive The Beauty Way Food and Supply Run
Donation protected
Since 1991 members of the band Clan Dyken and an extended family of supporters from around the world have been traveling to the Big Mountain/Black Mesa region of the Dine’ (Navajo) Nation to bring food, supplies, firewood, and labor to elders and families. These earth defenders have been resisting forced relocation since 1974 due to their opposition to the world’s largest coal strip mine. We’re part of an extended network of activists from around the globe who support the original people of Turtle Island.
This is a grassroots campaign with no overhead in the form of paid executives or offices. 100% of your donation goes to the people on the land. For more than 30 years, we've been bringing food, animal feed, firewood, tools, building supplies, medicine, and labor to the elders and families of the Dine' nation in remote areas of the reservation. Big Mountain, Black Mesa, Sand Springs, Teestoh, Jeddito, Coal Mine Canyon, Blue Canyon, and Mosquito Springs are some of the places we visit. The people of this land still live between the four sacred mountains, where The Creator placed them to care for and be part of the land. They speak the language, sing the songs, hold the ceremonies, say the prayers, and keep the flame as they were originally instructed. They were environmental defenders and climate activists before we had words to describe those activities. They have stood strong against government-sponsored forced relocation, multi-national corporate pressure and violence, broken treaties and promises, colonialism, and attempted genocide. You can make a financial contribution to help keep the grandmothers warm, share food and supplies with the families, keep the dogs and horses fed through the winter, and repair a hogan. You can also sign on to be a volunteer and help distribute the gifts around the reservation.
