2023 US Olympic Trials & National Tournament

Music City Boxing is fundraising for the 2023 US Olympic Trials & National Tournament. Two of our elite boxers, Cristee Forkins and Kenisha Johnson, qualified in an Olympic weight class over the last 12 months and will compete in the US Olympic Trials in the first week of December. The same week, five other boxers, Alan Abbu, Alison Gebrosky, Adan Ruiz, Nick Walsh, and Tony Walsh, will compete in the 2023 National Tournament in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Friends, family members, and supporters of these boxers and Music City Boxing, we ask for your help raising money for this significant event to help with travel and tournament expenses. Every little bit counts, and we could not be more thankful for your support.

The US Olympic Trials are the next major stop along Cristee and Kenisha's journey, as they have been working towards and preparing for this week of competition for the past three years. For more context, the US Olympic Trials help determine who represents the United States Olympic Team in Paris at next year's Olympic Games. The qualification process to even compete at the US Olympic Trials this December is quite elaborate and requires that the boxer must place second or first in one of five national qualifying tournaments in an Olympic weight class over the last 12 months to be able to compete in it. Kenisha Johnson qualified at 66kg and was extended an invitation to compete at 60kg, which she chose. Cristee Forkins also qualified at 66kg as well as 75kg. She will compete in Trials at 75kg.

For Adan, Alison, Alan, Nick, and Tony, the 2023 USA Boxing National Tournament is the year's biggest test. All have trained and competed consistently and now have the opportunity to become this year's national champion. While Alan and Alison will compete in the elite male and elite female divisions, Nick will be making his elite male debut, and Adan and Tony will make their youth male division debuts.

Our goal is $7,500. Any amount exceeding our goal will go towards future tournaments, such as Regional and National Silver Gloves held in December 2023 and February 2024. Please share this post with your friends and family over the holiday season.
