2023 Free Community Holiday Dinner Fund

God's Kitchen of Michigan is partnering with our fiscal sponsor, CALTRAN, to raise $10,000 for our 2023 Free Community Holiday Fund.

Your charitable and tax-deductible contribution will be used to purchase and distribute free Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, toys, and toiletries for homeless and other needy citizens living in Portage, Kalamazoo, and Battle Creek, Michigan.

A free Thanksgiving dinner will be served on Wednesday, November 15 at our Wesley Foundation meal site. The menu will consist of roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green beans, sweet corn, dessert, and bottled water.

Two Christmas dinner will be prepared and served in Battle Creek and Portage. The first is scheduled on Tuesday, December 19, at First United Methodist Church, 111 E. Michigan Avenue in Battle Creek; the second meal will be served on Wednesday, December 20th, at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 7028 Oakland Drive in Portage. Each menu will consist of fried chicken, ham, steak, mashed potatoes, cheesy broccoli, dessert, and bottled water.

A free toy will be given to each participating child, while supplies last.

All meals are served from 5 to 6 pm on a first-come, first-served basis.

About CALTRAN: CALTRAN is a 501(c)(3) Michigan-based private nonprofit corporation. Our hunger-relief charity was incorporated on July 28, 1994, to provide alternative transportation services for low-income, elderly and disabled Calhoun County residents. In 2017, the charity adopted a hunger-relief mission to combat hunger in West Michigan.

God's Kitchen of Michigan is a nonprofit corporation established to serve free dinners to the homeless, elderly, disabled, veterans, and other needy citizens. We have serve 155,600 meals since 2011.
