Hi, My name is Jenn Yorzyk Triger.
This year hosts the 3rd annual “Wild Bill Swim & Paddle Challenge” in memory of local swimming legend Bill Yorzyk, my dad. We celebrate his journey from non-swimmer at age 16 to gold medal winner at age 21, while introducing the world to butterfly as it is swum today. Most of all, showing us, it is never too late to start.
This WB Swim & Paddle Challenge is for fun, fitness and adventure! We are an event that caters to experienced and new open water participants and adaptive swimmers with their own team. we find a way for everyone to finish their swim or paddle We even had person swim 1 mile dog paddle in 2023! She is now taking adult swimming lessons! ! It is a fun, small town, vintage oriented event. you are sure to have some great conversations!
It takes $200 to fund one child.
The swim funds The Just Get in the Water Program- a NON-traumatic introduction to swimming & water safety skills. Our 2023 pilot put 120 kids through this program. It was a raving success. More and more schools are looking to join us. This program takes place during school hours, provides bags, caps and goggles. All left at school to ensure no child has the excuse of forgotten gear. The program includes transport, and parent instruction. We even hold a public water safety event on June 26 for parents & children at Oakholm Brewery, North Brookfield.
Drowning is the largest killer of youth in the USA. It is preventable.
Swimming is more than a sport, it is a life skill. North America has a notable lack of life guards, and a noted increase in drownings. Every child should have the chance to learn basic water safety & swimming.
Your donation goes directly to this program, these children.
As a newly certified non-profit organization, your donation is tax deductible. You will receive a tax receipt.
