2024 Allison T. Zimmon Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser
Donation protected
Thank you to everyone who supported our first year of The Allison Taylor Zimmon Foundation. We raised 95% of our first year goal thanks to our wonderful loved ones and supporters. In June 2024, we awarded our first two scholarships to two very deserving young women, both pursuing the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders, which was Allison's field of study. We have opened the 2024 fundraiser with a smaller goal of $2,000, with the intention of recouping the funds spent on the first awards and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our foundation. If you accidentally donate to our old GoFundMe page, no worries, we will still receive it!
Allison's Story:
Allison was a light in every life that she encountered. She was a daughter, sister, granddaughter, best friend, animal-lover, cat mom, dancer, brilliant student, and so much more. Allison was witty and could crack a joke at the perfect moment. She loved reality TV shows and true crime. People found her shy when they first met her, but as soon as you got to know her, you would learn what a dynamic and fun person she was. She spent countless hours volunteering in her community and supporting those in need.
Despite her positive actions and kindness towards others, Allison’s life was difficult. She struggled with Anorexia and various mental health challenges throughout high school and college. She had an incredible support system through her wonderful family and friends, including her two sisters, Jessica and Lisi. On May 2, 2023, as she was finishing her first year of graduate school at Florida State University, Allison lost her battle with mental health and took her own life.
This fundraiser is dedicated to Allison’s incredible academic achievement and commitment to supporting others. In her memory, we created the Allison T. Zimmon Memorial Scholarship, awarded annually to a high school senior or undergraduate college student pursuing higher education in a service-oriented field or trade.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about Allison. We met at different points throughout grade school and grew particularly close over the past several years, as we all finished college and began our adult lives. The pain of losing a best friend is hard to process, but we know her spirit will live on through the students this scholarship supports.
Thank you,
Mira Lines, Emma Clausen, Hannah Johnson, and Holly Zimmerman
