2024 Commonwealth Powerlifting Championships South Africa

Hello.

For those who don't know me, I am Kayleigh.

Some of you may know I have been selected to compete in the 2024 Commonwealth Powerlifting Championships in South Africa this October as a part of Team Scotland.

Powerlifting does not have the same publicity and funding as other sports, athletes depend on raising funds to compete at the highest level.

With only 12 weeks to go, I have decided to set up this go-fund-me to help cover some of the costs some of which include:

Anti-dopping fees

Entry fees

Equipment/kit

Flights and accommodation

VEGAN FOOD (if you know you know)

I have competed within Scotland a handful of times now. I have achieved so much since I decided to compete in 2022, (up until then it was just a hobby) most recently 3rd in the 2024 Scottish Championships, and a Bench qualifying total at the 2024 Scottish Bench Championships.

To have been selected to represent Scotland in a Commonwealth event is a huge honour and I am beyond excited to start this journey.

I shall keep everyone updated on my training, spending etc, and I know I have a huge support system behind me that goes beyond money so regardless thank you so much.

I apologise in advance to my friends, family and colleagues on the run-up to this competition, I'll try not to make it my whole personality.
