2024 Juneteenth July Jubilee!

Want to make a difference? Help the Friends of Twin Lakes State Park and the Connect, Communication, Collaborate Team by making a donation for a once-in-a-lifetime event. We are raising funds for a Juneteenth July Jubilee Celebration! During this esteemed event, we will celebrate the historical significance of Juneteenth. There will be an appearance by Dr. Opal Lee – the Grandmother of Juneteenth from Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Lee played a pivotal role in making Juneteenth a national holiday. She will share her story and explain how the holiday became a reality. There will be several guest speakers, food, music and more.

This event will be held on July 5-7, 2024 at Twin Lakes State Park located at 788 Twin Lakes Road, Green Bay, Virginia 23942. It is designed to educate attendees on Juneteenth's significance and inspire our community's unity for years to come.

To make this event a grand success, we need to raise $30,000.00 to cover the three-day celebration's expenses. We kindly request your support as a donor to help us achieve our goal.
