2024 Mississippi Lions Band Trip

The Mississippi Lions All-State Band is composed of 144 of Mississippi's greatest high school band students. I am proud to be one of these 144 students for the second year in a row, auditioning at 4th chair in the Euphonium section. Earning a spot in the band can only be done with hours upon hours of rigorous musical training, as the audition examines the various skill sets of each individual who tries out. Students who are a part of the band are generally on the path to great musical scholarships and careers, as well as memories that will last a lifetime.

While being a member of the MS Lions Band yields great benefits to both student and personal life, securing membership in the band can only be done with fees, which must be paid by each member who plans on honoring their position. The fees cover a week's stay at Pearl River Community College in Poplarville for physical and musical training for our marching production and a memorable week and half long trip to Melbourne and Sydney, Australia. As Australia is an international destination, the fees for this year's band are steep.

I hope this description emphasizes the importance of the band and what it means to me to be a part of it. As an alum of the 2023 band, I say with confidence that Lions Band is an experience that I wouldn't give up for anything. With the guidance of my parents, I started this GoFundMe with the goal of raising enough to at least alleviate this year’s fees over $5,000.
