NORRA 1000 Development Testing and Pre-Production

Friends, Family, and Friends of Friends and Family I am trying to raise money to help with funding the testing of my custom designed suspension components in the NORRA 1000 Mexican Rally, and pre-production of some of the components as I continue to build and launch my LLC, Fundamental Motorsports .

I started Fundamental Motorsports with the main goal of building products and a business that focuses on minimizing waste across the entire manufacturing cycle of off-roading components (racing and aftermarket). My approach to achieving this goal is to leverage additive manufacturing to redesign components that make them stronger, use less material, and have longer service life - all which result in less waste. To fund my development costs, I needed to find a way to start generating some type of revenue and the fastest path for that was to design aftermarket springs for the Jeep Gladiator. There are several aftermarket kits out there, but none have shown capability to handle the punishment of going fast in the desert. My current design have proven to be, so far, awesome both on road and in the desert. At the same time this current design has also allowed for great flex when navigating through challenging rock climbs.

I have been testing and tuning various spring designs for about 12 months and have changed out my rear springs 6 times (3 from currently available aftermarket kits, and 3 of my own design), and changed out my front springs 4 times (3 from aftermarket kits, and 1 of my own design). While doing that I have also tested and tuned various shock configurations to understand what the best performance is that I can achieve.

In February of 2024 I had the opportunity to pre-run my truck in the Parker 500 racecourse, running it as hard as I could over 125 miles of the actual racecourse and things worked better than expected. I have completed towing testing, flex testing, and jumps and whoops at over 60 mph in the desert. The final test is to run my truck in the NORRA 1000 which is a 6 day, 1200+ mile rally from Ensenada down to San Juan de Cabo along the entire Mexican peninsula.

To date I have covered all spring related costs of development and race entry fees, totaling over $26,500. At the same time, I have been parallel pathing newly designed components that are additively manufactured (3D printed) and have one patent pending and one additional provisional patent submitted (will need to formally apply in the next 10 months). I have also covered all of those costs (printing, machining, patent attorney, etc.) which total over $48,500. I intend to test these parts during the race as well, but currently am not able to share more details.

Between spring and my patent development I have spent, out of pocket, more than $75,000.

The next steps are to launch my website and begin the initial production of the springs. The hardest part right now is needing a very high initial payment for spring production, and this is where I need your help.

My goal is to raise $15,000 as that is just enough to help me get over the final hump and go into production following completion of the NORRA 1000 race.

However, I will have to pause on mailing rewards out from April 24th - May 8th which is whill I'll be in Mexcio for the rally. Here are the tiers:
