2024 Senior Cat Rescue Marathon
Donation protected
On Wednesday November 20 (my 62nd birthday), I ran the Eleventh Annual New York Cat Hospital SENIOR CAT RESCUE MARATHON! And as sole participant, I won...again!
SENIOR and SPECIAL-NEEDS CATS remain an underserved and neglected part of the rescue world.
These are the misfits. The forgotten. Surrendered just because they are old, ill, or simply no longer wanted. Torn from the only homes they've ever known and placed in cages to await likely euthanasia.
But with your help we can give these cats a SECOND CHANCE. Post-pandemic, the need is greater than ever.
The dedicated rescue advocates below pull cats from area kill lists, provide vital medical care, and place them in warm and welcoming foster and forever homes. Among them they've saved thousands of sweet, loving cats from a sad and unnecessary end.
Pictured above is "MJ," one such rescue. MJ is 18 years old, was quite ill, and just hours away from euthanasia at a local shelter. But he was rescued, and with attentive care and proper treatment, he has fully recovered and will spend his remaining days in a loving forever home.
Prior marathons have seen me crisscross the bridges of Manhattan, cover three states, and traverse all five boroughs of NYC. For the past two years, I've run "cat-shaped" routes through the streets of Manhattan. This year I'll attempt something similar...only better! Follow me live to see what unfolds!
Over the past 10 years, we've raised over $300,000.00. That's a lot of help for a lot of cats. Let's keep this streak going, and continue to help these special kitties.
All funds raised will be collected by me and distributed to Frankie's Feline Fund (www.frankiesfelinefund.org), CatFixerNY (https://catfixerny.org), and Paws Crossed Animal Rescue (www.pawscrossedny.org) — all registered not-for-profit rescue organizations. Monies will be specifically earmarked to help senior and special-needs cats.
Especially now, please DIG DEEP to support these sweet cats, and SHARE SHARE SHARE on social media. We need your help. THANK YOU!
