2024 Swedish Wrestling Exchange

If there was ever a worthy cause, here it is. Two nations will join together this summer when the Vasteras Wrestling Club travels to the United States for two weeks of training, competition, and cultural events from June 23 to July 7. The connection with Vasteras can be traced all the way back to 1978 when Coach Jeffire traveled there as part of a US team touring Sweden and Denmark. The friendships forged at that time remain even stronger today, and now it is our turn to host our Swedish compatriots. We have planned a Freestyle and Greco-Roman tournament, visits to Detroit and a Tiger game, a real American 4th of July celebration, and other fun events that will build not only friendships but cultural understanding that will last long into the future.

We are seeking donations to help us cover bus rentals from and to Detroit Metro airport, tickets for our guests to a Detroit Tiger game, competition gifts and awards for the Roughneck Cup to be held on Friday, June 28th, etc.. Our initial goal is $7,000, and all donations will be spent on our friends and their entertainment here in America. All are invited to take part in this amazing experience.
