Why we are Fundraising

Over the last two years, we have put in place a top-class sports gym and purchased sports equipment. (High Jumps, Hurdles, shots . javelins. Discus and a storage shed for the equipment).

Our next project is a Tarton Sprint track.

We are asking for your support to raise funds for the equipment purchased and track Development

How it Works

Our athletes are doing a sponsored 24hr run.

Our athletes will run continuously, relay style, for 24hrs over the Easter weekend.

A few words about Thomastown Athletic Club

Thomastown Athletic Club in Kilkenny is one of the longest-established clubs in Ireland with records of club sports in the town going back to the 1890s. The club is located in south Kilkenny supporting juveniles & senior athletes in the local catchment area of Thomastown, Bennettsbridge, Ballyhale, Stoneyford, Newmarket, Hugginstown and Callan. While we are a small club of approx. 120 members our juvenile athletes have been very successful over the last 10 years in both Cross Country and Track & Field with many of our athletes medalling at Leinster and National level with a number going on to represent their country.

Through the support of Thomastown GAA club & Grennan College we use their facilities for our training and would like to improve facilities for all in the locality.
