Help Me Beat Chronic Lyme Disease
Donation protected
Hello! I am Misty and I am currently battling stage 3 chronic Lyme disease. Before finding my diagnosis, I suffered severely from chronic pain for 6 years and saw many specialist who could never find the cause to my many health issues. I was contracting things like reoccurring strep, mono, staph, and pseudomonas. I kept getting migraines, bronchitis, had endometriosis issues, and even food sensitivities to where I couldn't eat a lot of food items without getting super sick. I was finally diagnosed on July 10th, 2020, the day before my 33rd birthday. This disease is not covered by any form of insurance, I have Anthem Blue Cross (Medi-Cal). I was denied by SSI twice and disability benefits do not acknowledge Chronic Lyme as a condition that can be funded (you can refer to the Bay Area Lyme Foundation, Global Lyme Alliance, or Lymedisease.org) to confirm this. The blood test that finally found the Lyme in my system and other organs was over $600 through a private lab called I-geneX. I was told by many doctors and other Lyme survivors that if I wanted a chance to live I would need to pay for medications, supplements, tests, and treatments all out of pocket. I am doing everything I can to just survive at the moment, I even sell unwanted clothing, shoes, and accessories. I am currently seeing a specialist an hour away from where I live three times a week. This doctor has been a major blessing, she even got me through double "cvd" pneumonia in August of 2021. Going untreated for this infectious disease for so long I now have a ways to go until I reach full remission. Lyme disease has taken over my entire life. At a time where I should be starting a career and a family, I am now fighting to stay alive. Despite this struggle, I am still a Senior in college. The only money I live off of now is my financial aid, donations, and the money I earn from reselling donated items. I am determined to not allow Lyme to take away my dream of earning a degree. I am praying for the day to come when I can just take a shower and my entire body doesn't have to hurt. To be able to function again will be my miracle. I understand that this is a crazy time for everyone, but I have reached the point where I desperately need help. Please if you can find it in your heart to share my story and help me get to where I need to be in order to heal, I will forever be grateful. Thank you & God bless, Misty Angel (Lyme Warrior)
