20th Annual Carleton Tavern Christmas Day Dinner
Donation protected
For the past 19 years, the Carleton Tavern, in collaboration with the HEDC (Hintonburg Economic Development Committee), and its many staff and community volunteers, have opened its doors on December 25th, devoted to helping those in need and those looking for companionship. The day of cheer and celebration has provided crucial winter items – such as toques, mittens, and scarves – as well as a Christmas dinner, complete with turkey, tourtierre, and all of the holiday fixings to members of our community who could use a helping hand.
In 2019 alone, we served close to 1100 Christmas dinners and handed out over 600 gifts. This day would not be possible without the donations and contributions that we have received from our community and local businesses. The generosity we’ve witnessed during these past 19 years has brought the spirit of Christmas to thousands of people and filled us with pride for the wonderful community we are a part of.
This year due to COVID-19, we will not be able to open the tavern doors and offer a sit-down meal however, in collaboration with the Parkdale United Church, we hope to offer take-out/pick-up/and delivery, on Dec 25th. The safety of the community, volunteers and food preparation are top of mind; as such, we will not be able to accept food or gift donations. This makes it even more essential that we achieve our fundraising goal.
100% of your donation will contribute to the purchase of the Christmas dinners and gifts that will be handed out.
