Nemo Pregnant Protester Shot By Austin Police

Hi there, my name is Kenneth Martin, and I started this GoFundMe on behalf of my wife, Saraneka “Nemo” Martin. On May 30, 2020, we were protesting the recent murder of George Floyd along with thousands of other peaceful protesters in Austin, TX. As our group protested, the Austin Police Department began shooting. We got up to run for shelter, when horrifically Nemo got shot with projectiles in her abdomen and in her back while pregnant. We were lucky to receive medical attention from on-scene medics as well as offsite medical attention. Our baby is miraculously ok, as far as we know, but we will definitely need another check up. We are in a safe place, resting and recovering. Our beautiful son, Metallica, needs his mommy to be ok!! We appreciate anything you can donate. As you can imagine, we will be using these funds for medical/recovery expenses and legal council. Any excess funds will be donated to relevant organizations. #blacklivesmatter “The police chief said this “I know there’s another incident where we have a African-American female, pregnant female, that has reportedly been struck with an impact munition to her belly, and that investigation is ongoing, as well. We’re looking into that. She too was brought into police headquarters and was rendered aid to ensure that she received first aid and then was assisted by both medics and APD personnel. So that incident remains under investigation.”
