Chips & Arthur Cougar Attack
Donation protected
Our Precious Horses, Chips & Arthur, were attacked on our property this morning, by a Cougar. Arthur is Chips foal from 2018. He was my dream foal. We & the vets believe, that the Cougar went after Arthur 1st, he is the smallest of our 3 horse herd. And Chips, his mother- fought her absolute hardest to protect him. Both sustained life threatening injuries. They were rushed to the best Equine Hospital in the area, where a team of vets worked on both horses in rotation, for almost 6 hours. There is a very high risk of infection with Chips, the mom- who is torn up from head to toe, & in severe pain. Arthur, has a large bite wound to a leg (one of his many injuries)- that may be too serious for him to recover from. We are doing everything in our power to save these 2 amazing horses. I am always financially prepared for vet bills on my horses, I never imagined I would need to be prepared for a Cougar Attack on 2 of them. They will need to remain at the Equine Hospital for a while. We have paid for all of the work done to save them today, but are concerned about the days to come, as each day the must be there is close to $1,000. Any donations are so greatly appreciated, I cannot lose these 2 incredible fighters...thank you all.
