For Tracy Dickinson Mokma’s Children

Donation protected
My best friend, Jodi Carlson’s sister passed away in Florida. Here is her story. 2020 has been a challenging year for sure. Especially for the Dickinson Mokma families. There have been a plethora of unexplained injuries and illnesses for these related families but none so sobering as the recent death of their mother, sister, aunt, cousin, Tracy Dickinson Mokma. Tracy grew up in Fennville. She was a talented athlete, band member, leader, Miss Fennville, and those who knew her will likely remember a funny, smart, fun, kind, positive, beautiful girl, who went on to college and marriage. Tracy had a passion for people and helping those who struggled. Tracy leaves her children, Nick Mokma, Tai Mokma, Aaron Fenters, Tessah Fenters and grandson, Mason Mokma. 3 sisters, Kym Dickinson Zumbrink, Jodi Dickinson Carlson, and Sara (Jinny) Dickinson, many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. For most of her life Tracy was single, doing her best to raise four children. Those who knew Tracy, also knew that she struggled with substance abuse addiction, with periods of sobriety...she could count them for you. In the past couple of years, she had become homeless at times. Last year a very kind friend from Fennville, offered that she could come and stay with her and her family until she found her own shelter in FL. Which she did. She loved living in Florida; finding recovery houses a safe haven...she was enjoying the warmth, sunshine and beauty of her surroundings. Her daughter Tessah had moved nearby, and Tracy sent pictures often of her experiences and surroundings. May 29th a tragic pedestrian accident took her life . Family was notified by police...all were and are stunned. Her four adult children and young grandson literally have nothing tangible to hold on to and remember her by. Tracy's sisters are covering the final expenses. What I would ask of you are one or both of these things if possible: 1. A monetary donation if you can comfortably afford it, in these uncertain financial times, to assist her children and grandson 2. A letter to the children and grandson; maybe fond memories of their mother/grandmother, or words of comfort and advice that they can look back on in the days and years to come, as they will surely need it.
