A couple of days after George Floyd’s murder, when they released the officer's name, Chauvin, I text my sister and told her that the officer’s name looked familiar and said “I think that’s the officer that shot me” and she replied “It is”. I was unaware that she already knew that it was him. She sent me an article and when I read it, it confirmed that, it was the same officer that shot me back in 2008.

On May 24th, 2008, my daughter’s mother’s friend called the police on me and Derek Chauvin was the officer dispatched to my address where my daughter, her mother, and I were living. While trying to deescalate the situation I could see a squad car out the window with no lights on. Thirty minutes after first spotting the squad car outside, with no announcement I started to hear kicking at the door with the intent to knock it down. My daughter’s mother and I did not know what to do. Assuming it was the police if we wanted to let them in, we could not while they were kicking on the door. Standing in the living room watching the front door being kicked in I saw that they finally breached the front door that’s when I ran into the bathroom sitting on the edge of the bathtub facing the bathroom door with a cigarette. Shortly after the kicking started at the bathroom door and I continued to sit in on the edge of the bathtub. The door finally came down and the officer was able to get enter the bathroom. Nothing was in between the officer and I anymore so I stood up and that’s when Officer Derek Chauvin started to hit me. I don’t remember what happened after that I just remember being shot and drug through the house, down the stairs where I then collapsed in the entryway and bled until the paramedics arrived. The bullet went through my pubic area above my left leg and came out of my left buttock. After spending two days in the hospital with my ankles cuffed to the bed I was taken to jail and was not given any pain management for my injuries. When I was taken to court and saw the judge for this incident is when I found out that Derek Chauvin had put in his report that I tried to disarm him while he was hitting me after breaking down the bathroom door, he lied in his report and was trying to justify his reasoning for shooting me. I was originally charged with three counts of felony obstructing the legal process, but those charges were dismissed. Back in 2008, I was 21 years old and smartphones weren't common like they are now nor was Google and I remember having trouble finding an attorney that would help me with this case. I created this campaign is to help with paying for lawyer fees and for financial help. In 2008, when this incident happened and since then I have had difficulty finding work because of the slander that was brought to my name due to the media attention this case initially received.

My plan for any money raised:
1. Would go towards finding a lawyer that would help me file a civil complaint against the Minneapolis Police Department and Derek Chauvin.
2. I have been out of work since Mother's Day so I am $680 behind on rent and would like to buy a reliable transportation
3. Pay off my child support debt that has accumulated since I have been out of work
4. Pay the fees to get my LLC started
5. Give 10% of the money to individuals or organizations in need or help other people who have been victimized by the Minneapolis Police Department and/or help single homeless men because there are not enough resources for them.

I would like to thank anyone who took the time to read this I would like to thank family and friends who shared this, and I would like to thank you for any donation
