On Sept. 11th 2018 Deputy Jaime Morales of the Scott Co. (KY) Sheriff's Office, along with other members of law enforcement, were attempting to take a suspected serial bank robber into custody. During this incident Deputy Morales was shot in a part of his body not covered by his protective vest. As a result of this serious injury Jaime has had 2 surgeries on one of lungs and is now expected to be paralyzed from the waist down. Jaime is a Marine and a valued member of agency, we know that he is strong and hold out all hope that he will recover. Jaime has a long road ahead of him and we would appreciate any support possible. #217Strong is based on Jaime's badge number. My name is Capt. Jearl Porter and I am the Chief Deputy at the Sheriff's Office where Jaime works. I started this campaign to raise money to help Jaime and his family with any healthcare, home care and incidentals that may arise in the future. This is possibly a long term injury and we don't know what may come. Our agency, Jaime and his family greatly appreciate any support.
