On June 15, 2020 our world was turned upside down when our family received the most unimaginable news possible.
Our mother, Frances Lucero, underwent a biopsy procedure for a lump under her arm. Upon receiving the test results it was confirmed that she was positive for the presence of breast cancer cells in the lymph nodes. It was a long week of waiting for additional results and a diagnosis.
On Monday, June 22, 2020 Frances was diagnosed with Stage 3A Breast Cancer. The tests also confirmed she was positive for Her2+ type breast cancer, which is a rare, fairly aggressive type. Doctors will begin treatment immediately and will treat this condition aggressively. Frances has surgery scheduled for June 23rd to insert a chip and port and will begin chemo by the end of the week.
Although we are extremely hopeful and positive about the outcome, our mother will require many medical treatments including chemo and radiation, as well as many surgeries on the road to recovery. She will be required to be away from work, home, and her kids and grandkids for extended periods of time during treatment.
It is with great humility that my siblings and I ask for donations of any amount to help our mom and dad with expenses they will incur on this journey. Please keep our mom, Frances Lucero, in your prayers. Prayer is powerful and we know God will get her through this. On behalf of our mom, Frances, we express our heartfelt gratitude for any and all support and prayers. God Bless You All!
