FREE murals for BLACK owned business

Hi, My name is Arianne Zager and I am a local south Minneapolis artist. A few days ago I put up an offering to do a mural for a black owned business in MSP for free. Valued at $10,000ish. I am incredibly excited to announce my first offering goes to AFRO DELI in Minneapolis! I met the owner yesterday and gave them my ideas and I am all booked to start! (Thank you for the connect Mohamed H. Mohamed) This idea came to me when a childhood friend and her husband randomly sent me hundreds of $ for protesting or helping clean up msp. Which I don’t deserve personally so I wanted to put it to something I know how to give back. I have struggled with how I can actually make an impact aside from offering myself in protests. That’s just a given...what can I ACTUALLY DO! I am not incredibly wealthy so any $$$ donated feels lost in the sauce or not enough to make a big difference. What I DO know how to do is spread visual beauty via paint. I know how to steal moments in your mind with color and motif and make you feel good even if just for a glances worth of time. I know many businesses can’t always afford my work so this is how I can make more bang for the buck. Take $1000 worth of paint, supplies and turn in into $10k. THIS I CAN DO. THIS PEOPLE CAN ALSO HELP ME WITH! I then felt empty at the thought of when it’s over then what can I give? How is the give back real and not just a fleeting moment of trend? Well you keep doing it. Soooooooooo the goal is to raise $$$ and donate 10 murals a year to BLACK OWNED BUSINESSES in MInneapolis and St. Paul. I will need help to buy, 1. PAINT all kinds, exterior, acrylic, spray etc and it’s EXP! 2. Gold leaf 3. Tarps and cleaning supplies 4. Brushes and rollers 5. Transportation and parking 6. Rental of equipment (cherry pickers, ladders, scaffolding 7.*****I’d like to bring black artists on board to assist and PAY them for their genius.**** I will take or make $0 on each project. Long story short is HERE WE GO AND AFRO DELI IS FIRST! So very very excited to start and turn it OUT!!!!!!
