Help Mika Get Better

TW: sexual assault , discrimination, suicidal thoughts
My name is Mika, I’m 23 and from London. Over the past year , I have been through some of the most traumatic experiences of my life. I’ve been working hard to find ways to heal from these traumas and find help accessing therapies etc.
I was diagnosed with non-epileptic seizures last April/June. A few weeks later after visiting a friend for their birthday I was sexually assaulted by someone who attended. From there I went on a gruelling challenge of fighting for justice (which I later closed the case). I found I was pregnant a month later , to which I aborted in September 2020. It was a hard decision and something that I still cry about to this day. It’s not easy to recover from such pain, I found ways to keep myself going through art and activism which has been very positive to my life.
I’m currently dealing with landlord harassment on the basis of victimisation. He and his assistant have been racially discriminatory, homophobic and transphobic towards myself including negligence towards my disabilities and mental health conditions. I must move away and I was close to recently but I found that the new landlord who I had found was not accepting of DSS so I am now back looking for a room.
I thought I would give some detail to my situation which isn’t ideal currently . I am ashamed of where I am at and to think I was in university studying start of last year and now I am fighting for my life. I don’t always make the best decisions and I guess years of trauma can change someone , make them more vulnerable to the destructive powers that be. But I will continue fighting for myself. I will continue to get help and be the best that I can be for myself and the community I fight so much for.
This money would be to help me clear debts and go towards rebuilding myself. Gaining better eating habits , learning new coping mechanisms can all come from good therapy. I would like to get access to long term therapy as I’m in need of it.
I’ve been let down by so many in the system as many can relate to. But , I was quite suicidal recently from the sheer stress that’s in front of me. I’m not scared of tackling it. Simply too weak alone. But with your donations , resources of information around therapy or even helping me by pointing me into the right direction it’s all powerful and equally beautiful help and support.
Thank you so much for supporting me in this time
