SGLC National Playoff Fund
Donation protected
We are the Sleeping Giants Lacrosse Club (SGLC). The team consists of all Quinnipiac students, freshmen through seniors. Although we are all students, our team is not affiliated with the school whatsoever. What this means is that we are not provided with any help along the way; we do it all ourselves! The school gives us no money, does not allow us to use the school field for practice, and gives us zero support or recognition. Last year we had the honor of traveling to Penn State for the NCLL National Tournament. As mentioned before, we pay for everything ourselves, and for a trip like this, that included the fee for the bus, hotel rooms, all meals, our own equipment, and league fees. The cost was $220 per person out of pocket to make the trip possible. Other than these expenses, we are constantly paying fees for practice fields, uniforms, etc. throughout the season. As you can imagine, it adds up. This year, we have won our conference championship for the second year in a row and have again been invited to play in Nationals this year in Annapolis, Maryland. The tournament is to take place this upcoming weekend (May 7-8), and we are now in a bind trying to figure out how we will make this dream come true for a second year in a row. Any donation you can make will help and is tremendously appreciated by all of the players, especially the seniors who want to make this final endeavor before they have to leave college behind and enter the real world. The coaches and players of SGLC thank you all!
