Grace & St Peter's Capital Campaign

Grace and St. Peter's Church was built in 1852 and was the first brownstone church in Baltimore. Over the years, Grace and St. Peter's parish has been able to keep up with the basic maintenance of the church facilities and grounds, but finds itself in need of improvements including repair of the exterior wrought-iron fence, repairing of brownstone entrance steps, re-landscaping of the existing aged landscape, and the installation of a much-needed handicap ramp to make the church accessible and welcoming.

To make the church accessible, we are in need of repairs to the brownstone steps and the installation of a handicap ramp. As you will see from the pictures, the grounds have become overgrown and the fence that encircles the gardens has failed and needs to have its footers rebuilt.

The congregation has recently repaired our 1922 Austin Organ - Opus 1074 and is also providing most of the labor for this project. We need to raise $35,000 to complete these capital improvements.

We have looked for grants, but have been unable to find one due to the general exclusion of faith-based organizations in grant proposals. We hope that you can find it in your heart to help make these needed upgrades so we can continue spreading the Word in Baltimore.

On October 30, 2016, we will celebrate the 160th anniversary of the consecration of the church with a dedication of our new handicap ramp, fence and gardens. Thank you for your support.
