Jerry's Online Textbook

Hi all,

So GFM has a #ThankATeacher promotion going on -- basically, if this campaign raises $100 then they will supply an additional $100 to the cause -- so I figure I would give this a try.

I want to develop a free online textbook and study guide that I could use as a supplement to my teaching at various schools. However, it would be difficult for me to devote time and resources into this as my pay as an adjunct is low and my teaching schedule is not very stable. Supplemental funds would allow me to take some load off of my teaching schedule to work on this project.

The textbook would be written and programmed from scratch and would feature an option to adapt to basically any level the student would wish to be immersed in, essentially being multiple textbooks in one. Eventually, I would also want to feature self-generating test questions and interactive figures if this were to really go anywhere.

I'm not in any particular rush to collect funds, and any amount would be appreciated. I set the amount to something arbitrary but $100 is enough to trigger the promotion!

This is something that I think will bolster my development as a professional educator, and it would mean a lot to me if you contributed. Thanks for taking the time to read this!

If it feels weird to contribute to something that seems kind of abstract, then know that this will probably also go towards gas money for my weekly 400-mile commute(s).
