Hughes’ Family

Hi my name is Michele Clark. I have started this campaign On behalf of Michelle, Mike, Nathan and Joshua Hughes.

As many of you already know, Nathan has been hospitalized for about a week now. He is in ICU due to complications from Covid-19 and continues to fight for his life.

We would like alleviate as much stress from this family as possible. Funds will be used for gas, meals, home expenses, loss of work expenses, medical expenses or anything else the family may need.

Please read below Michelle’s latest update on Nathan. If you can not afford to give monetarily, please consider praying for this family. They need each one of us to bombard Heaven on their behalf. UPDATE:

Nathan stayed pretty much the same overnight. His lung CT scan is very bad. COVID has attacked them hard. . The doctor went through each layer of lung CT with me. They should be black, but his have the smoky white appearance they see with C-19 inflammation. His dialysis was successful again, and they plan to repeat it tonight. For now, he doesn’t need continuous because his kidneys still have some function. They just need a little help.

This will make it much easier for his lungs and heart to do their job.

He is still VERY critically Ill. It is not just day by day, but is more like hour by hour. He opened his eyes and blinked during his bath this morning. He gets mad when they roll him and it was very clear that he calmed when I talked to him and rubbed his hair. I was telling him how daddy cleaned up Vanna White and that we washed his Vanna blankets so they will smell good when we go “to ride”.

I am ready to see improvement. The doctor said we still have a way to go to allow him to heal. If anyone can fight this and win, it’s our little Frankie Doodle. I told him it’s snowing outside for him. He loves snow.

I feel your prayers. In those moments when the doctors tell me harsh realities and specifics about outcomes, the only thing that sustains me is the peace of God. I know that the love of our family and community is strong. When I am most afraid, I scroll through and read each comment, embracing each offering of prayer. I look at all of the gifts this sweet baby got yesterday (there were TONS) and I marvel at how many lives he has touched. I think about all that he has taught us about enjoying the simple things in life. And about patience and preservence. He has taught a lot and influenced many in his 18 1/2 years on this Earth.

I pray that the next lesson he teaches is that God can heal even when the odds are stacked against us. Our boy is very sick. I’m not going to sugar coat it. Research is showing that something with the 21st chromosome doesn’t go well with C-19, and our guy has an extra one.

I hope no one grows weary of praying. It has been a lot to ask for in hoping you will lift him every day. You are on this roller coaster ride with us and I know it’s taxing for everyone to see the ups and downs. But I pray for your renewed strength and faith each day so that you are strong enough to stand in the gap and to pray and believe for our boy.

If there are any major changes I will update. Otherwise I will wait until tomorrow to post again. Right now it’s touch and go. I’m tired so I know that his tiny little body must be exhausted. We will stand and believe for healing. MomMommy loves you so much, Nathan. Your name means “gift from God” and you are, my precious one. Dad-Day and I love you with every fiber in our body and we will not give up on you.
