Peter Kobelt ATP Tour Expenses

About MeMy name is Peter Kobelt and I'm from New Albany, Ohio. I have been playing tennis since the age of 4, thanks to my old man who is a tennis coach. The game of tennis really attracted me and I begain to fall in love with it at an early age. I knew tennis was going to be a huge part of my life by the time I turned 14, when I started having pretty good results on the national level.

At the age of 18, I accepted a scholarship to Ohio State to play tennis and was on the team there for 5 years, redshirting my freshmen year. At Ohio State, I was ranked as high as number 1 in the country in singles and number 2 in doubles and led the Buckeyes my senior year to its first ever national title.

Since graduating from Ohio State, I have been playing on the pro tour for almost 2 years. I'm currently ranked 335, which is my career high in singles, and 703 in doubles with a career high of 378. During my first two years on tour I have played over 50 tournaments in 18 countries all over the world. I've won 2 singles titles (Futures), 8 doubles titles (Futures) and competed in the 2014 U.S Open doubles tournament. In 2014, I began my career ranked 1500 in singles and after two years I have reached a career high ranking of 335 and I'm also the 25th best American tennis player.

I've  come to a point in my career where I need to find some help financially to make my jump to the next level on the ATP World Tour. A key part of making the jump to the next level is having a coach with me at some of my upcoming larger tournaments. I have been fortunate enough to find a great coach who has helped me evolve my game tremendously over the past year and is prepared to travel with me when necessary. My family has been funding my expenses to this point but cannot afford to pay a coach as well as fund me through this process. I'm on brink of making a breakthrough into the the top 250 where I will be able to fund myself through prize money. The funds will be used to help pay for my coaches' expenses and fees that go along with coaching. Around 2500 dollars will be needed per tournament.

In professional tennis, there are very few sponsors and you need to be ranked within the top 200 in singles in the world to begin to break even.

As a kid growing up around the game with my dad, it has always been my dream to make the top 100 in singles, play the main draw in all of the Grand Slams as well as play on center court at the Cincinnati Masters 1000 event. I'm prepared to work as hard and as long as I have to in order to achieve these dreams. I would love to have you become a part of my journey and would be deeply grateful for any size of donation.
